Social Concerns Ministry and the Michigan Prisoners
Reentry Initiative (MPRI)
The MPRI is a statewide program
initiated through the Michigan Department of Corrections. Its purpose is to
ease the transition of newly released prisoners back to their home
communities. It provides "wrap around services" during the first 90 days
following an inmate's reentry into his or her community.
The MPRI Stakeholders Group meets
once a month on the first Tuesday. Due to the holiday this month the next
meeting will be held at 6pm at King of Kings Lutheran Church 2685 Packard
Road Ann Arbor. Through its Social Concerns Ministry, Second Baptist is
seeking one or more persons interested in serving as liaisons between the
church and this initiative.
If you have an interest in
assisting with this project, please contact Ronald C. Woods at 657-8948.
